Jerome A. Bell, 81, passed away at 1:05 AM on December 3, 2024 at his family home
in Maroa, IL. Jerome was born on November 17, 1943 in Springfield, IL, the son of
George and Anna (Welch) Bell. He married Linda Swift on October 1, 1964. He and
his wife had recently celebrated 60 years of marriage before he went home to be with
the Lord. Survivors include his wife, Linda Bell, Maroa, IL, daughter, Robin (Bell)
Shonk, Pine Village, IN, brother, Bill (Yvette) Bell, Fort Meyers, FL, sister in law,
Valerie (Gene) Swift Griffith, and grandchildren, Jamie (Joshua) Wagner Brinkley,
Las Vegas, NV, John Wagner, Wapella, IL, and Noah Shonk, Decatur IL. He was
preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and two brothers. Jerome worked in
manufacturing for Revere Copper and Brass and drove a truck for McLean and Eby-
Brown Transportation until his retirement. He was an Army veteran, husband, dad
and grandpa. The family of Jerome would like to extend a special thank you to
Decatur Memorial Hospital and Memorial Home Hospice.
