Jimmie Kaye Jestis, 78 passed away on April 6, 2024 at DMH with her family by her side.

She was born December 1, 1945, raised in Crossville TN, graduated Steven Decatur High School, lived in Decatur IL all of her adult life, worked in business marketing sales, a pre-school teacher at Summit Avenue Baptist Church, and enjoyed time with her grandchildren.

Her children are; Natanya L Martin, Cynthia R “Robin” Barton (Kevin Barton), Troy S Jestis (Sheryl Jestis) , and Star Jestis.

Jimmie has 9 very special and loved grandchildren; Chris Martin, Brandon Martin, Matthew Chaney, Clint “Joey” Chaney, Lauren Paddock, Corey Dickson, Shianne Jestis, Amber West and Daylan Jestis.
Great grandchildren; Kelton, Leo, Savannah, Baron, Porter, Wilder, Lyons, William, Summer and Riley.

She is survived by her brother, Roger Farris.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

She has lived a life of endless adversities but she was strong, brave, and would say “Jesus will come for me when he’s ready.”
Now being held and uplifted, healed in her mind, body and spirit, forever in the arms of Jesus.

Memorial Services at Summit Avenue Baptist Church, Decatur IL, Saturday, April 20th at 10:00am with a Butterfly release and a farewell luncheon to follow.
Burial will be at a later date in Crossville, Tennesee.

The family would like to thank Dr. Timothy Miller, Dr’s, nurses and all staff all throughout DMH, especially ICU, and the fourth floor during her last days, along with Fairhaven and Heritage nursing homes for all their kindness and care.

Central Cremation Center in Forsyth, Illinois has been entrusted with arrangements.
