Jody L. Watts (68) died at 8:30a.m. on Tuesday, April 18th at University Rehabilitation Center in Urbana, IL with his loving sister Rhonda by his side. He was born on December 11, 1954 in Cleveland, Ohio to Kenneth and Betty Jean Lovett Watts, whom both preceded him in death. Also, preceding Jody in death are his daughter, Sherri Jo Watts, two brothers Robert Lawrence Watts and Charles Zackaria Watts, and his grandparents on both sides. He leaves behind his sister, Rhonda (Brian) Grenko of Urbana, sister Gaylene (Suek) Chanthathouong of Urbana, sister Carla (Suei) Ounkham of Savoy, brother Kenny (Emily) Watts of Mahomet, and sister Karen Marcum of Kileen, Texas. He has many nieces, nephews and three grandchildren, who live in Ohio.
Jody was a character. He loved singing to all genres of music, but mostly the 60’s and 70’s. He also loved dancing wherever he was at. He had a deep love for the Cubs and the Bears faithfully. He worked at Jenkins & Key Moving & Storage in Urbana. He also worked at Urbana Park District and swimming pool, and at the Champaign County Nursing Home in Urbana.
Donations can be made to the American Diabetes Foundation in Jody’s honor. Central Cremation Center is handling the cremation arrangements for the family.
