John (or “Monk” as we knew him) was an outstanding pitcher in high school, playing three years in the varsity at Marquette. Being that our names were next to each other in alphabetical order, we got to know each other through our four years and had a good time doing so. We went our separate ways but I was always glad to see him and was hoping to do so at a class reunion, but it never materialized. My condolences to his family and his brothers.
