Johnny “Big John” Bourne

67 of Boody, Illinois

March 3, 1958-October 7, 2025

Preceded in death by his parents Earline and Howard Bourne and siblings, Jim, Peggy and Billy.

Survived by his twin sons; J. Travis and Zeb Bourne; grandchildren Gavin, Emmett, Audrey and Wyatt Bourne. Sisters Teresa Washburn, Kathy Bourne; brother Jeff Bourne; cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and his dog Jake.

John had a voice that bellowed through the biggest of crowds, he never minced words, had a snicker as soft as a whisper and a smirk that said it all.

He was a man that his family could count on, a man we all respected and his grandchildren admired. He never missed a birthday or an opportunity to tell a joke… no matter how many times you’ve heard it!!

His passion in life changed with age… he was a cowboy, an Army mechanic, a farmer, horse trainer, a truck driver, and a retiree, but his purpose was ALWAYS his boys and their babies.

John was a big man that left an even bigger void in the world of those that loved him. He will be greatly missed by many and his memory cherished by all.
