Josephine “Jo” “Jody” (Fanning) Fellows, 73, of Decatur IL passed away Tuesday, October 28 at her residence. She was born August 9, 1952 in Watseka IL. She married Ray Fellows in July 1974 they later divorced. He preceded her in death.

Jo worked for many years in quality control for Littelfuse in both their Watseka and Arcola locations and in recent years worked for Bodine Electric. Jo earned degrees from Danville Area Community College in substance abuse counseling and from Richland College in computer applications.

Jo was an avid bowler and spent several years as a youth bowling coach and instructor. She was once awarded Women’s Bowler of the Year by the Charleston (IL) bowler’s association. Additionally, Jo volunteered in statewide activities for the FHA, Special
Olympics and Gold Star Families. In later years, she enjoyed traveling to the USBC National Bowling tournament each year. She also enjoyed the companionship of her beloved cats Captain Jack and Lady Jane.

She is survived by her brother George F. Fanning, several nieces and nephews and three sons; Byron of Green Cove Springs Florida, Baron (Kristine) of Cape Coral Florida and Brandon (Megan) of Taylorville Illinois. Grandchildren: Orion (Hannah), Ray, Devin, Calvin,
Elijah, Kobe, Braydon and Bryson. She had recently become a great grandparent with the birth of Adam.

She was preceded in death by her parents George C. and Darlis (Smith) Fanning and by her sister Gloria.

In accordance with Jo’s and the family’s wishes no services are planned. Friends are encouraged to hold their own celebrations of life in her honor.
