Katherine L. Born, 70, of Decatur passed away Saturday May 28, 2022 in St. Mary’s Hospital. Kathy was born December 23, 1951 in Decatur, daughter of Ersyl (Lee) and Betty Gentry.

Surviving is her mother, brother’s Michael (Shelly) of Maroa and Randy (Denise) of Decatur, daughter Kelly (Jeff) Walker of Decatur and granddaughter Hannah Walker of Decatur. Fred Born (ex) remained friends for life, and her best girlfriend Marcie Skelton. Numerous aunt’s, uncle’s, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Kathy was employed as a veterinary technician at several clinics and Drs offices, including Macon County Animal Shelter. Kathy had a passion to care for all animals, including squirrels, birds, groundhogs or any other critter that might happen by her home.

Through the years she enjoyed playing pool, softball and going on poker runs on the back of a Harley, with her friends.

She was cared for and supported by her friends and family in her last days and will be remembered for her kindness, thoughtfulness and generosity.
