Larry E. Davis, 81, of Pana, IL., passed away on May 15, 2026, in his home after a hard-fought battle with cancer since 2021.

Larry was born on March 14, 1945, in Nokomis, IL., the son of Paul and Verna Davis. He was 1 of 6 children.

Larry dedicated his life to hard work and service, spending years a firefighter, farmer and coalminer before retiring after 28 years in the mines.

Larry married Helen Mink on June 23, 1973. They were married almost 53 years. Larry and Helen had a daughter, Kristi Davis Schulte (Rick) of Kincaid, and son Larry Davis II (Kelli) of Assumption. Larry has a daughter from a previous marriage Marsha Leach (Bobby) of North Carolina, grandchildren Dalton Davis (Julia) and Brandon Davis of Assumption, Sarah Cutler (Noah) of Kincaid, Rodney “Glenn” Curry (Brittany) in California and Christina Garcia (Luis) in Colorado.

Larry is survived by his wife Helen and children Larry Davis II and Marsha Leach, brothers David and Richard Davis, five grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Linda Edwards, Paulette Tipsword and Jimmy Davis and daughter Kristi Davis Schulte.
