Linda Kay Hector 79, of Mount Zion, IL formerly of Cerro Gordo, IL passed away on November 5, 2022 surrounded by her family at St. Mary’s Hospital, Decatur IL. Linda  was born on December 29, 1942 to William Kenneth & Laura Louise(Nelson) Smalley. Linda married Oliver Gaylen Hector on June 23, 1979 and they raised a beautiful blended family full of love together.  Linda loved coffee time with the girls and learning all the latest gossip and was known to always have an open door and a fresh pot of coffee on for anyone who needed to stop by no matter the time of day! Linda also enjoyed Mexican and Margaritas with her bonus family Linda was an avid Cubs fan and always had the game on the tv but she loved going to Wrigley Field to watch them live! However Linda’s main love and passion were her grandchildren and great grandchildren she never stopped bragging about them and telling anyone that would listen how much they all meant to her! Linda is survived by her children: TeAnn and Robbie Walters of Cerro Gordo IL, John and Heather Hilberling of Lakeland Florida, Laura Hector of Warrensburg IL, Leslie and Brandon Miller of Argenta IL, Shane and Melissa Hector of Mount Zion IL, step children: Rick and Jeanne Hector of Riverton IL, Dan Hector of Mount Zion IL, grandchildren: Colin and Hannah Hilberling, Cami Hilberling, Garrett Hilberling, and Kaitlyn Hilberling all of Florida, Dylan, DeLanee, RyLee, and Reese all of Argenta IL , Austin Kitchens and Logan Helm all of Mount Zion IL, and Hayden Hector of Warrensburg IL, great grandchildren: Ivory, Meredith Bea, and Joseph all of Florida, 5 step grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren, and 1 step great great grandchild. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Deborah, and two step daughters Linda, and Debbie.

 

There will be a Celebration of Life for Linda on November 18, 2022 from 5pm – 8pm at First General Baptist Church 2825 S. Baltimore Ave. Decatur Illinois
