Manuel "Manny" Mendiola

Manuel “Manny” Mendiola, 72 of Bloomington, IL, passed away on Tuesday, Oct 17th, 2023.
Manny was born on August 17th 1951 in San Benito, Texas, to Juan and Bonifacia Mendiola.

Surviving are his 4 siblings: Alicia McWhorter, Olga Cabrera, Larry Mendiola and Josefina Garcia; his brother-in-law Fidel Garcia and a sister-in-law Rita Mendiola; his 4 daughters: Dianna Mendiola, Renee Lafontaine, Felicia Arnold and Malisa Norman; as well as many surviving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Rosa Mendiola, Guadalupe Mendiola, and brother Juan Mendiola.

A special thank you to his sister/friend Rosario Fernandez. Dad loved her like a sister and they had a special relationship. She helped take such good care of him.

He was a faithful Jehovah’s Witness for many years! He held out the hope that the bible gives us at John 5:28,29 & Revelations 21:3,4 which tells us there will be a resurrection of the dead here on earth under perfect conditions where death and sickness will be no more. He held on to that hope up until the end and that brought him peace.

He was always trying to tell his quirky, corny jokes and was a hard worker! He loved staying active and going on his daily walks. We will miss you so much! Manny is so loved by many. We know it is only temporary and when he wakes up he will be back to his youthful vigor under paradise conditions. Until then he his sleeping and resting awaiting that time.

Arrangements are being handled by Central Cremation Center in Forsyth, Illinois.
