Marjorie Royer

Marjorie Ann Royer, 84, of Decatur, Illinois, passed away on October 9, 2023. Born on July 31, 1939, in Davenport, Iowa, Marjorie was the daughter of Edward and Irene Coelln.

Marjorie leaves behind a loving family, including her children Erik Royer (Monica), Aaron Royer (Michelle), Julie Hoglund (Mark), Kristen Downs, and Sarah Hartman (Dave). She was also a cherished grandmother to nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Marjorie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Lynn Royer.

Marjorie had a fulfilling career as a Registered Nurse and also worked in the real estate industry where she held her brokers license. She dedicated herself to helping others and made a positive impact on the lives of many.

Outside of her professional life, Marjorie found joy in her pets and hobbies. She had a green thumb and enjoyed spending time gardening, sewing and horseback riding. She was a talented artist and will be remembered for her ceramics.

Marjorie’s faith was important to her, and she found solace and community at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Decatur, Illinois.

Marjorie will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, and unwavering love for her family. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 26th at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Decatur, Illinois, followed by funeral mass at 11:30 and graveside ceremony at 2 pm at Monticello Township Cemetery, Monticello, Illinois.

Arrangements are being handled by Central Cremation Center, Forsyth, Illinois.
