Maron Wright, 92, died Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at his residence in Riverton. He was born February
13, 1930 in Chicago, IL, to Aaron Ollie and Margaret (MacGirvin) Wright. He married Roberta Lee on
March 22, 1951, and they made a simple, beautiful life together.

Maron was an automotive machinist and worked at Thomas Auto Supply for nearly 30 years until
retiring in 1996. He was one of the only crankshaft grinder in Springfield, and he was widely known for
being the best at his craft.

Maron was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on September 15, 1941 and was a faithful
evangelizer for over 80 years. He attended the Springfield East Congregation. Even in the last few
months of his life, it brought him great joy to tell others, including his healthcare professionals, about
God’s Kingdom and of his hope of the resurrection and of a happy future in a restored paradise earth.
His faith in God’s promises stated in the Bible was dear to his heart.

Very late in life, he found a passion for designing and making wooden cars and trucks of all sizes. As
much as he loved making them, he really enjoyed giving them away. He gave away 471 unique cars and
trucks and wrote down the name of every single recipient in a little notebook he carried in his pocket.
Maron was the fourth of eleven children. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers: Millard
“Les” and Harry Wright, and 3 sisters: Cirrelda Marsh, Lou Alice “Dolly” Nehr, and Margaret Shephard.
He is survived by his brother: Merele (Sandra) Wright and 4 sisters: Helen Renaker, Emily Cook, Sharon
(Ed) Kushmer and Clara Austin.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 71 years and their children: 3 sons: Mark (Cathy), Chris (Lisa)
and Sam (Dawne) Wright; and 4 daughters: Lesa (Harold) Murphy, Theresa (Allen) Johnson, Cordelia
Miller and Johanna (Daniel) Kiesow; 24 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. He was preceded in
death by his son Michael (Tracey) Wright and grandson Benjamin (Jessica) Murphy.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2022 on Zoom with Chris Harris officiating.
