With deep love and gratitude, we announce the passing of Mary Lee “Lou” Oliver, lovingly known as “Mema,” who went home to be with the Lord on February 5, 2026.

Lou was the kind of person who made life feel warmer just by being in it. For many years, she faithfully played the piano for church, sharing her gift of music in a way that touched countless lives.

She was known for her thoughtful spirit and the way she made people feel special. One of her most cherished traditions was calling friends and family on their birthdays—playing “Happy Birthday” on the piano over the phone, turning an ordinary day into something unforgettable.

She shared 55 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Richard “Dick” Oliver, a love story to remember.

Mema leaves behind a legacy of kindness and unconditional love. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in every hymn played, every quilt sewn, and every birthday celebrated with joy.

She is survived by her husband Dick of Decatur, daughter Bethany (Brad) Potts of Decatur, Granddaughters Hannah (Tony) Robinson of Mt. Zion, Abby Potts of Decatur, Grandson Taylor (Ashley) Oliver of Decatur and 3 great grandchildren. Brother Ken Huffman of Decatur and sister Janie (Mike) Ricketts of Rochester, Indiana.
