Michael Ray Pierce, 53, of Edinburg, Illinois, passed away on October 10, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his family and friends.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Carol and Warren Pierce; grandparents, Evelyn and Ray Plummer, and Mary and Clifford Pierce.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Dora Pierce, whom he married on June 11, 2005.  Mike was a proud father to Brent Pierce of Edinburg, Levi (Emalee) Doan of Edinburg, Julian (Abbey) Doan of Taylorville, Zander (Emma) Doan of Taylorville, Ethan (Eileen) Doan of Philadelphia, and Miranda (Khalid) Hamdan of Milwaukee. He was also a grandfather to Luca Ruppel-Doan and Liam Doan, who both gave him great joy.

Mike is also survived by his brother, Robert (Jennifer) Pierce of Chatham, along with several nephews and a niece.

Mike graduated from Auburn High School, Class of 1990. He then held various jobs over the years, but was especially proud of his 12 years as a member of the Operating Engineers Local 965, a position he held until his early retirement due to health issues.

Mike was a very dedicated  volunteer fireman. Between Auburn and Edinburg he devoted 35 years and was the Assistant Fire Chief in Edinburg, where he recently retired.

In his free time, Mike enjoyed collecting farm tractor toys, and spoiling his beloved cats; Zeke and Zeus.

Per Mike’s wishes there will be no funeral service, we will have a Celebration of Life at a later time.
