Nancy Joanne Baker passed away in her home on August 8th, 2024. She lived 76 years.

Nancy was born on January 9, 1948. Nancy was the daughter of Jesse Dewey (Jack) Baker and Norma Joan (Jerri) Plumley Baker, sister to Linda Christina, Jacalyn Sue, and Jody Rae. Nancy was dearly loved by Thomas Benjamin (Tom) Baker, who preceded her in death. She was mother to Tammy Jean (Chris) Morgan and Pearl Anne Baker. Thrilled to be grandma to Luke Alan, LauraBeth Anne, Jeska Serenity, and Katrina Trinity.

Nancy and Tom raised their family in Oakley, Illinois, where they enjoyed the fresh country air, sunshine, local wildlife, walking by the lake, and special neighbors Louis and Carol Sulwer.

Nancy was a homemaker, graduate of Lakeview High school, and Richland Community College. Nancy retired from Wal-Mart in Mt Zion. She was an artist, photographer, and creator of things. She baked and designed wedding and anniversary cakes for many family celebrations. Nancy painted landscapes on canvas, saw blades, milk cans, and wooden spoons! The local birds and deer were often the subject of her photography, and Buddy, the dog she loved.

Nancy will best be remembered for her homemade noodles, the cookies we all loved, and the paintings and photos she shared. Remember Nancy when you fill up the bird feeder, she will be waiting for that perfect picture! A quote from Nancy, “To me, life is pleasant.”

Central Cremation Center in Forsyth, Illinois has been entrusted with arrangements.
