If you knew Odie, you knew kindness. You knew patience. You knew someone who could fix just about anything — not just cars, but hearts too. He wasn’t just my father-in-law. He was my dad. Plain and simple. He made me feel like family from the moment we met, and it was a gift I will treasure for the rest of my life. Odie loved his family with everything he had. He was a wonderful grandfather, and the greatest great-grandfather to his little “ladybug,” Sadie. The way his face would light up when he saw her — that was pure love. Our time together wasn’t nearly long enough, but every moment counted. I’m so honored I got to be part of his life, and even more honored I got to be with him through his final journey. Odie was the kind of man who made life better just by being there. He was a devoted husband, an incredible dad, a proud grandpa and great-grandpa, a loyal friend — and if you ever had a car break down, you know he was the best mechanic around! He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a family that will always be proud to say, “I’m one of Odie’s.” We love you, Odie. We always will
