Obituaries » Patrick G. Woodcock
Patrick G. Woodcock, 70, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 22, 2026, in Decatur, Illinois, with his children by his side.
Born on November 4, 1955, in Peoria, Illinois, Patrick was a man of many interests, a memorable sense of humor, and a personality that left a lasting impression on those who knew him.
A devoted Green Bay Packers fan, Patrick loved comic books, science fiction, and wonderfully terrible B-movies. From *Evil Dead* and *Conan* to quirky science-fiction television shows, he had an appreciation for the unusual and entertaining. He also enjoyed collecting pens, playing golf, and listening to classic rock, particularly Three Dog Night, Iron Butterfly, and Meat Loaf.
Patrick had a gift for making people laugh, often at their own expense. He particularly enjoyed embarrassing his children in public, a pastime he practiced with great enthusiasm. He was known for making an excellent pot of chili, provided there were no onions involved, and for approaching the grill with far more confidence than success.
Above all, Patrick loved his family fiercely, in his own way. He was funny, stubborn, occasionally outrageous, and unmistakably himself. Although his later years brought significant health challenges, his family will remember him for the laughter, music, movies, and countless memories they shared.
Patrick is survived by his son, Nicholas, and daughter-in-law, Korri; his daughter, Ashley, and son-in-law, John; and his four beloved grandchildren, Iris, Juniper, Mya, and Jonah.
He is also survived by his siblings, Mike, Janice, Jerry, Glen, Sue, and Patty, along with numerous extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Don Woodcock and Mary Malban, and his son Christopher.
In accordance with the family’s wishes, Patrick will be cremated, and no formal memorial service is currently planned.
Those wishing to honor Patrick’s memory are encouraged to share a laugh, enjoy a wonderfully terrible movie, listen to some classic rock, or cheer on his beloved Green Bay Packers.
**Rest easy, Patrick. Go Pack Go.**
