Paul Edwin Spencer, 76, of Waynesville, Illinois, passed away peacefully May 14, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.

Paul was born February 22, 1947 to Helen (Girdler) and Carl Spencer in Williamsville, Illinois. He married Barbara Jeane Foust June 4, 1967. They celebrated 55 years of marriage in 2022.

Paul is survived by his wife Barbara Foust Spencer; children Mary Cathleen (Luis) Alarcon, Paul Edwin (Sheila) Spencer II, Joshua Haven Foust (Elizabeth) Spencer; grandchildren Jay, Dylan, Paul III, Maria, MaKayla, Tommy, and Christina; great-grandchildren Summer, Violet, Matthew, Spencer, and Cora.

He was proceeded in death by his parents and his three brothers: Joe, Tom, and Carl.

Paul proudly served in the U.S. Army at Killeen Base, Texas – Vietnam Era. He was a skilled machinist at Caterpillar, retiring in 1999 after 30 years; followed by 10 years at UAP in Atlanta.

Paul was a biker from the age of 16; a member of Freedom Valley A.B.A.T.E. for 21 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and farming with his brother-in-law. Paul was a 51 year member of the Waynesville American Legion.

Donations can be made to the Waynesville American Legion or Freedom Valley A.B.A.T.E. in Spring Bay.

Services and celebration of life will be at Waynesville American Legion on Friday, June 2 time to be announced.
