Peter Edwin Leu 81, of Springfield, won his battle over cancer Friday 26th December in Memorial Hospital. Pete was born on May 30,1944 the only son of Yvonne and Set Wale Leu.

Pete owned Leu Stables, retired from CWLP and was an army veteran of the Vietnam War. He attended N.E. Missouri (Truman) College, Griffin High School and St. Al Grade School. He was an avid sports fan and all-around athlete with his favorites being fishing and harness racing.

Pete is survived by his wife Heidi Leu of Springfield and daughter Jeana Michelle Leu of Bloomington, sister Michelle Cook of Bloomington, several cousins, family and friends. His passing leaves all who loved him mourning his departure and rejoicing that his earthly battle has ended and he is resting peacefully.

Pete was preceded in death by both parents and stepfather Phillip Cook of Buffalo. Pete will be cremated and his celebration of life later in the Spring.
