Phillip (Phil) L. Hemrich of Effingham, IL passed away peacefully on October, 31st 2022 with family by his side. He is survived by his son’s Jeff (Eugene, OR), Larry (Litchfield Park, AZ) and Zachary (Farina, IL), siblings Carol Sheehan  (Teutopolis, IL), Dan Hemrich & wife Linda (Everett, WA), Theresa Chase & husband Lee (Lowell, OR), Brigid Hemrich & husband Daniel McDonald (Effingham, IL), seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by parents Louis & Lydia Hemrich and sister Linda Gordon.

Born in Newton, IL, he attended St. Anthony High School and graduated from Effingham High School in 1967. Phil was a master carpenter and general contractor his whole adult life. He traveled the country building residential homes and major commercial projects with lengthy stays in Oregon, Alaska, Arizona, Effingham County and surrounding areas. People that knew Phil best would say he was a perfectionist builder, master story teller, had quick wit and told never ending jokes. To say he was a ladies man would be an understatement.

Immediate family are holding a private celebration of life and arrangements have been made with Central Cremation Center in Forsyth, IL.
