Phyllis R. Mills, daughter of Ila and Roland (Bud) Kloever, peacefully passed away at 1:45 AM on April 21, 2025, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Phyllis was born on December 4, 1936, in Michigan City, Indiana. Her family later moved to Decatur, where she graduated from Stephen Decatur High School. Phyllis had a long and fulfilling career, serving in various roles, such as receptionist, clerk, and bookkeeper.

She is lovingly remembered by her three sons: Steve (wife Marilyn), Scott (wife Leslie), and Todd (wife Diane), as well as her stepson Benny (wife Ellisa). Phyllis leaves behind a legacy of love through her grandchildren, Scott, Jennie, Ralph, Sharika, Taylor, Brianna, Natalie and Juliette. Affectionately known as “Crazy Grandma” by her granddaughters Taylor and Brianna, Phyllis brought joy, laughter, and a sense of fun to her family. This endearing nickname became a beloved term among them, symbolizing her lively and spirited personality. Her beloved Shihtzu, Skipper, who had been her loyal companion for the past 13 years, also survives her.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Ila and Roland (Bud) Kloever; her brother, Roger; her late husband, Marvin Porter; and, most recently, her husband, Cary Mills.
