Rebecca Sue Sechrest, 62, of Dana, IL, passed away peacefully September 2^nd, 2023, at 4:50AM at Goldwater Care Nursing Home in Pontiac, IL after a 2-year battle with cancer.

She was born to Earl & Carrie Edgeton on April 25^th, 1961, in Streator, IL. She married Bobby Sechrest on July 27^th, 1984. She is survived by her loving husband, her children: Jennifer & Jessica Morton, Robert Sechrest, and her Grandchildren Skyla Stevenson, and Madison Smith, along with her siblings: Michael, James, and Cary Edgeton, Judy McMillan, and Kathleen Scott. She was preceded in death by sister Terri Edgeton, and her parents.

She worked at the Gold Dust Diner, Dana, as a waitress for 20 years and at Cleta’s Kitchen, Minonk, for 10 years. She was a member of the Dana Methodist Church.

She enjoyed camping with family and friends at Bayou Bluffs, Cornell. She collected Owl & Mice figurines. She did diamond art and loved to decorate the house.

She had many friends and loved ones who enjoyed her company and will truly miss her.

Graveside services will be held at Dana Cemetery on September 16^th at 11:00 with luncheon following hosted by the Dana Fire Department.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Dana Fire Department.

Arrangements are being handled by Central Cremation Center, Forsyth, IL.
