SPRINGFIELD – Richard Allan Flamm, 58, of Springfield, passed away on May 30,2025 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL, surrounded by his family and loved ones. In his final act of generosity, Richard chose to donate his organs, giving the gift of life and healing to 3 families in Illinois.

Born October 5, 1966, in Decatur, IL, Richard was the son of Robert and Nancy Flamm. He married the love of his life, Donna Lynn Herring, on September 2, 1989, in Tuscola, Illinois.

He is survived by his son Ryan (Nichole) Flamm; daughter Mackenzie (Ben) Fulton; and two beloved granddaughters, Ava and Amelia Fulton. He also leaves behind his mother, Nancy Flamm; four sisters, Susan (Bob) Turnholt, Sherry (Mark) Behrends, Sharolyn (J.R.) Esgar, and Sara (Matt) Ervin; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who will miss his vibrant presence.

Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Lynn Flamm; his precious granddaughter, Addison Grace Fulton; and his father, Robert Allen Flamm.

A generous man of great spirit and adventure, Richard brought energy and laughter wherever he went. He lived life to the fullest—whether running marathons, boating, building family waterski pyramids, flying kite tubes, trying to unicycle, or spending cherished moments with his “mini best friends,” his granddaughters. His greatest joy came from time spent with family and friends.

Though our hearts are heavy with his passing, we take comfort in knowing that after 24 long years, Richard is finally reunited with Donna, whom he loved and missed dearly.

Service will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Camargo, Illinois on July 12, 2025. Celebration of life to follow. More information on times will be provided by the family.
