Ricky (Rick) Lynn Gharrett, 63, of Clinton, IL passed away 10:57 AM, January 14, 2025, at OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center, Urbana, IL. Memorial services are pending.

Rick was born June 20, 1961, in Clinton, IL. He was the son of Ivalou (Moore) & Barton Noel Gharrett. He married Cindy Thrasher on July 9, 1994. Survivors include children: Mike Thrasher, Clinton, IL, Doug Thrasher (Marjorie), Kingman, AZ, Ricky Gharrett, Jr, Lincon, IL, Richard Gharrett (Jennifer), Clinton, IL, and David Gharrett, Pontiac, IL.

Surviving grandchildren include Taylor, Dominic, and Jaxson Thrasher; Dakota and Cheyenne Thrasher, Kaleb Frazier, Kirsten & Kiely Stone & Kora White; Hailey Abner & Dalyeh Gharrett; Joshua, Jayden, Faith & Lucas Gharrett, Caleb Zook, Karli White, & Ryan Ballinger; David Gharrett, Jr. He also has one great-granddaughter, Violet Tanner.

Also surviving are his sisters, Susan Baldis & Charlene Howard.

Rick has 12 nieces and nephews and 36 great-nieces and great-nephews who also survive him. The list of those who he also considered family and who he dearly loved is innumerable.

Rick was preceded in death by both of his parents; his brother, Richard (Dick) Anderson; the love of his life, Cindy; his son Lucas Gharrett; his granddaughter, Destiny Cox; and his nephew, Shane Senters-Baldis.

Rick was an avid motorcycle enthusiast. His favorite brands were Harley Davidson and Victory; however, he admired other brands such as Indian. Riding was one of the greatest joys of his life. He was a member of The Children of the Corn chapter of ABATE of Illinois for many years and served as Vice President of the chapter during part of his membership. He collected Native American décor and memorabilia. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, camping, hunting, and spending time with his friends and family. He loved his animals, and his dog Roscoe was his closest companion. He had a cup of coffee in his hand day or night. Rick was a joke teller and had a great sense of humor. He was an amazing listener and could be counted on for valuable advice.

Rick is just gone from our sight and touch but never from our hearts and memories, until we are reunited at Home.
