Robert “Bob” Schwabe, 65, passed away Saturday April 4, 2026 at Lakeland Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Effingham.

Bob was born on July 20, 1960 in Salem, Illinois son of Robert Keith and Janice Mae (Barbee) Schwabe. He Married Shelly (Fry) Schwabe on February 2, 1985, for 27 years.

Bob worked as maintenance at McDonald’s for 35 years. Bob loved watching his grandchildren playing, he was very proud of his children and grandchildren. He loved spending time with family. His favorite things other than being with family were being outside and going fishing.

Bob is survived by his two sons David (Erin Ray) Schwabe and Tyler (Krissy) Schwabe; sibling, Deb (Rick) Stumeier; Grandchildren, Kendal and Daisy Schwabe and Coltin Ray, Joey and Weston Schwabe.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of a funeral service the family will have a celebration of life at a later date.
