Robert E. Nelson, 78, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, peacefully at his home.  He was born on February 22, 1948, in Denver Co, the son of Robert L. Nelson and Dorothy Grzybinski.

Surviving is his beloved wife of 54 years, Becky (Landers) Nelson of Taylorville, IL; sons, Mike Nelson (wife Christie) of Taylorville IL; Lance Nelson (wife Sarah) of Chatham, IL; grandchildren, Connor Nelson, Kiley Nelson, Kyler Nelson, step-granddaughter, Gabby Williams. Brother-in-law, Scott Landers (wife Dottie).

Robert proudly served the United States Army while being stationed in Vietnam.

He enjoyed working on lawn mowers and spending time talking on his CB Radio.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents Robert L Nelson and Dorothy Grzybinski and grandson Lane Nelson.

There will be no funeral services, but Robert will be receiving full Military honors at a later date.
