Ronald Michael Strong, age 62 of Mattoon, IL passed away September 14, 2024, at home.

Ron was born May 27, 1962 in New Brunswick, NJ to James Lee and Geraldine Strong.

Survivors include his brothers, Kevin (Amy) Strong of Arthur, IL and Daniel Strong of Neoga, IL; nephew Brody Strong of Arthur, IL; niece Mackenzie Strong of Arthur, IL; great nephew Harley Strong of Stewardson, IL; great niece Whitney (Anthony) Shonk of Shumway, IL; several uncles and aunts and his special friend Christina Rutledge.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew Michael Strong.

Ron was a big fan of sports but especially a fan of the LA Lakers and the LA Dodgers.  Ron was well known for being able to remember stats from a variety of sports spanning many, many years.  He was also an avid listener of great music.  He enjoyed going to races of all kinds but loved going to the Indianapolis 500 with his friends and family.

He will be missed by all who knew him.
