Ronna Snapp, age 71, of Champaign, IL, passed away on August 3, 2023 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Champaign, IL. She was born December 14, 1951, in Danville to Ronald Grider and Phyllis (Edwards) Grider.
On October 5, 1985, she married Kerry Snapp and they remained happily married until his death on September 2, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her father, her step-father Rex Miller, maternal grandparents, Ben and Pluma (Brooks) Edwards, and her paternal grandparents, James and Vivian (Williams) Grider.
She is survived by her mother, step-father Gene Sprouls, sister Beth (Grider) Haven, brother Larry (Melisa) Grider, and several cousins, nieces and nephews and friends.
Ronna was an accomplished pianist, accompanying several soloists, groups, and choirs. She also directed small church choirs to larger community choirs.
She was most proud of the work she did as a therapist at the Dyslexia Institute of Champaign. Many of “her kids” have said they would not be where they are today without the help of “Miss Ronna”.
A Memorial Service/Celebration of Life will be held on September 2, 2023 at Elwood Friends Church in Georgetown, IL. Visitation will be held from 1-2 prior to the service with a dinner following at the Georgetown Fairgrounds. A private graveside service will be held later.
Ronna wished to be cremated and her wishes were honored by Central Cremation Center of Forsyth, Illinois.
