Russell V. Turner Sr., 65 of Chatham, IL passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at his residence.

He was born January 26,1959 in Springfield, the son of James and Christine (Turley) Turner. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Russell enjoyed family gatherings and he loved everything about the Christmas holiday. He was employed at Turris Coal Co. for over 20 years and later was owner of Krekel’s in Pawnee, IL.

Surviving are his three sons: Russell V. Turner Jr. (Dawn) of Springfield, David M. Turner (Kayla) of Taylorville and Ryan A. Turner (Katie) of Chatham and 11 grandchildren. Siblings: David (Liz) Turner, Katherine (Bruce) Osborne and Patty Bostick all of Chatham, Julie (Rob) Ostermeier of Rochester and Suzette (Rich) Dowell of Springfield and generations of nieces and nephews.

Cremation rites were accorded. Central Cremation Center in Forsyth, IL has been entrusted with arrangements.

Per Russell’s request there will be no services.
