Sara Ann Campbell, 84, of Clinton, passed away at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield on Wednesday, September 9, 2026.

A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held at The American Legion Post #103 in Clinton, Illinois, on October 3, 2026, from 1-3pm. The internment will be private for the family in Evergreen Cemetery in Waynesville, Illinois, at a later date.

Sara Ann was born in Clinton, Illinois, on September 6, 1942, a daughter to Lewis and Mildred (Preston) Fields.

Surviving are her children James Florey of Beason, and Brian (Janean) Florey of Clinton, grandson Nicholas Florey and great grandson Eli Florey, both of Clinton, sister Nellie Nelson of Clinton, plus numerous nieces and nephews.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, four brothers, and three sisters.

Sara Ann retired from Grief Brothers in 2008. She was passionately competitive at bowling in her younger years. Sara Ann was an avid Cubs fan until the end. Sara loved her yorkie “Scooter,” her napping companion. Sara insisted on fixing food for the “boys at the shop” as cooking was her God given talent. She was famous for her homemade noodles.

Sara’s favorite memories were her yearly trips to the Colorado mountains with her sister Verna and Brother-in-law Pete and family.

Sara will be deeply missed.
