Shannon Michele Childers, 50, of Springfield, Illinois, passed away on November 22, 2023, in Springfield. She was born on April 5, 1973, in Springfield, Illinois.

Shannon was a loving mother, kind-hearted, and always willing to help others. She cherished her role as a mother and was known for her compassionate nature as a friend. Shannon’s warm presence and beautiful smile will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Gage, Jordan, and Brandon, as well as her brother, James T. Birt, and father, James A. Birt. Shannon was preceded in death by her mother, Laura Teater and brother Mikey.

May Shannon Michele Childers be forever remembered for her love and kindness towards others.

I went to high school for a brief while with Shannon before she moved back to Springfield; I was absolutely smitten in love with her.. Her name popped up in my head today and I just thought I'd see where she's at and how she is... I'm so saddened to see her passing. My condolences to all of her family. Shannon, you will always have a very very special place in my heart and memories. Rest in peace bright eyes!

Shannon was my sweet and precious little step daughter. She was a darling little girl with stunning sparkling blue eyes. Every time I saw her she always had the biggest smile as she ran to me. I loved her the moment I met her and still love her. God took one of his favorite Angels home. My heart breaks for her boys and sorry she didn’t get to be a grandma to her beautiful Sophia.
