WHITE HEATH – Shirley Irene Shelmadine of White Heath and Smithland, Ky., passed away at her home in Gibson City Il Friday, November 29, 2024.

Shirley was born on January 5,1940 to Lewis Alphonsisus Raney and Edith Mae Ellis in Urbana Il. She married James Ray Shelmadine Sr. on January 12th, 1957, in Champaign.

Also surviving are three sons, James R. (Kim) Shelmadine Jr., Mahomet, Gary R. (Lynn), LeRoy, and Jessie L. (Debbie) Smithland Ky.; three daughters, Patty A. Nichols, DeLand, Judy L. (Larry) Kilman, Marissa, Donna S. Morrow, Gibson City.

She had many grandchildren; great grandchildren; and great great grandchildren. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, 4 brothers, her husband, 1 son, 3 grandsons, 1 great grandson, and 1 great granddaughter. Surviving sister; Katherine Hobbs, Gifford Il.

Shirley was a stay-at-home housewife. Took care and raised all of her children. Loved to gamble, dance and play bingo.

She was a loving wife, Mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and a devoted friend who will be deeply missed.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Burial will be in Ingram Cemetery in White Heath Il. Memorial donations may be made to her children.
