Stephani Ann “Mammie” (Walters) Walding, 69, of Warrensburg, IL passed away peacefully at 2:32 a.m., Monday, June 17, 2024, at home, with her daughter and son-in-law by her side. A Celebration of Life gathering in her honor will be held Saturday, August 3, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Warrensburg Sportsman’s Club, 6289 N Glasgow Road, Warrensburg, IL, 62573. Memorials in Stephani’s honor may be made to the family in care of Central Cremation Center, PO Box 16, 110 W Weaver Road, Forsyth, IL, 62535. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at centralcremationcenter.com.

Stephani was born March 4, 1955 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Merilynn Lea Walters and Darryl Walters. She grew up in Latham, IL, and attended Warrensburg-Latham High School, in the graduating class of 1973.

She married her high school sweetheart, Johnny R. Binkley on September 27, 1974, and they were married for sixteen years. Together they had two children. Stephani worked as a Quality Analyst and was a devoted employee at Crown Cork & Seal Plant #6 in Warrensburg, IL for thirty-four years, retiring in 2021.

Throughout that time, many friendships were formed and fond memories were made. Stephani had a passion for plants and gardening. She could grow anything, and make it bloom and flourish with her “green thumb.” She also enjoyed cooking and baking “sweets for her sweets.” However, her greatest joy in life was being “Mammie” to her grandchildren. Watching them grow and being a constant in their everyday lives was her reason for living.

Stephani endured a two-year, three-month battle with Cholangiocarcinoma, which she courageously fought with dignity and grace. She was the most loving Mother, Mammie, Aunt, cousin, and friend. She will be missed beyond measure. Words cannot express the feelings of gratitude for the efforts made by cherished friends, family, nursing and medical staff throughout Stephani’s cancer journey. The outpouring of love, support, meals, well-wishes, visits and blessings from those that loved her will never be forgotten.

Stephani is survived by her son Dustin Binkley; daughter Ellyn Binkley; son-in-law James Ireland; grandchildren Elias Binkley, Jase Ireland, Abigale Ireland, Blake Faith, Austin Faith, Owen Binkley, Lily Binkley; nieces Tracy (Brian) Plummer, Laura Howe. She was preceded in death by her father Darryl and mother Merilynn Walters; brother Richard L. Walters; nephew Dennis “Slim” Binkley.

As per Stephani’s wishes, cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Central Cremation Center in Forsyth, Illinois; a private family graveside service will be held at Two Mile Grove Cemetery in Latham, IL, at a later date.
