Ted “Teddy” Steskal, 42, of Springfield, died at 2:46 a.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at St. John’s Hospital, Springfield Illinois. Teddy was born April 26, 1982 in Springfield, the son of Raymond and Carol (Gramlich) Steskal. Teddy married Charity K. Turner on October 15, 2007. They had four children Anthony (16), Audrey (12), Ainsley (6) and Auggy (4).

Teddy graduated from Midwest Technical Institute receiving a Technical Certification in HVAC/R. He operated as Mr. Ted’s Handyman Service. Teddy was also an E-Bay merchandiser with an online store (Steskal’s Treasure Mine).  In addition, he bartered and traded merchandise with a multitude of buyers and sellers in central Illinois.

He was preceded in death by both parents; brother, Raymond “Ramie” Steskal, Jr. He is survived by a brother; Harold Steskal and his three sons Justin, Kyle (wife Amber), and Nicholas Conder and their mother Jackie Conder all from Springfield, Il. A sister Shelly; (husband Parke) Nimmons of Lone Tree, CO with their two children Nick and Taylor. An uncle; Christopher Steskal, and his son Christopher (Mandy Stecker) both of Springfield; also uncle Charlie Gramlich of Springfield, IL; and a number of great nephews.

Teddy will be dearly missed and remembered by his family and many friends who could always depend on his laughter and uplifting disposition that was overwhelmingly contagious for all who graced his presence.

Cremation will be provided by Central Cremations Center. A celebration of Life ceremony will be held from 1:00 p.m.- 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at D & J Cafe, 915 W. Laural St., Springfield, IL. A private burial will be held at a later date.
