Terry L. Miller, age 67, of Charleston, IL, went home to be with Jesus on Monday, December 23, 2024. He was a dear, sweet soul who brought light and joy to all who knew him. A celebration of Terry’s life will be held at a later date for family and friends.
Terry was born on May 7, 1957, in Mattoon, IL, to Wilbur H. Miller and Edna Belle Ward (Dunlap).

He is survived by his siblings: Michael W. Miller of San Antonio, TX; Sandra K. Bauswell of Galesburg, IL; Connie M. Thompson of Monmouth, IL; Joseph “Joe” Miller of Quincy, IL; and Mark E. Miller of Palmyra, MO. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, along with his cherished companion and caregiver, Jeanie Wright, and her family. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Edna; his eldest sibling, Mary Alice Miller; his brother, Dan Miller; his nephew, Daniel; and his niece, Tina.

Terry brought happiness wherever he went, not just through his kind heart but also his playful sense of humor. He loved making others laugh with his funny antics and innocent tricks, spreading joy in his own special way.

He found delight in his hobbies, especially creating artwork and reading his favorite magazines. His creative expressions were admired by many, and his vibrant personality shone through his passions. A lover of music, Terry had a special fondness for Olivia Newton-John and treasured his collection of records. He was also an avid swimmer who loved spending time in the water and participated in the Special Olympics, inspiring everyone around him with his enthusiasm.

Terry’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to his Briarwood Family, who provided him with a loving and nurturing home for so many years. The care and kindness he received from the staff and residents there were immeasurable, and they truly became an extension of his family. Their unwavering devotion and the joy they brought to Terry’s life will never be forgotten.

Special recognition is also extended to Social Services Director John Knowles at Charleston Rehabilitation and Healthcare for his steadfast support and compassion, and to the wonderful team at Hospice Transitions Care for their kindness and dedication during Terry’s final days.
