William F Reeder, formerly of Springfield, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026, at Goldwater Care in Clinton, Illinois.  William was born in Pittsfield, Illinois, on October 15, 1942, to William H and Alice M (Bates) Reeder.

Surviving William is his son William Reeder, daughter Libby Cross (Doug), grandsons Braden Cross and Payton Cross, brother Max Reeder (JoEllyn), nephews Nick Reeder (Amber) and Alex Reeder, sister-in-law Karen Reeder, and niece Michelle Shuman (Marc).

He was proceeded in death by his parents, his brother Dave Reeder, and son Aaron Reeder.

William attended Illiopolis High School and served in the United States Army from 1964-1966.  He returned to Illiopolis after leaving the Army and held various jobs before retiring from the State of Illinois Department of Revenue.

He was an avid fan of both the St. Louis Cardinals and Illinois Men’s Basketball.  He enjoyed firearms, billiards, and spending time with family playing cards.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to PawPrint Ministries at pawprintministries.
